Dr Jennifer Crombie and Dr Ruth Ward are female General Practitioner's (GP's) who started serving the community of Pinelands in July 2016.

Dr Jennifer Crombie

Dr Jennifer Crombie graduated from the University of Cape Town with MBChB in 2009. She completed her 2-year internship in Pietermaritzberg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, and her community service year was spent at the new Khayelitsha District Hospital in 2012. Jennifer obtained a Diploma in Mental Health through the Colleges of medicine SA in 2013.

Jennifer began working as a permanent locum for Dr Denise Kotze in August 2013 where she gained invaluable experience. Jennifer is very grateful to Dr Kotze's mentorship and to have benefitted from her wisdom and medical knowledge. She also worked part-time at the Robin Trust Subacute Rehab (10 bedded ward for physical rehab) on the Oude Molen property in Pinelands from 2013 until early 2017.


Dr Jennifer Crombie lives in Pinelands with her husband, Dr Kenneth Crombie, and their two little girls. Kenneth is a specialist physician at Groote Schuur Hospital.

Dr Ruth Ward graduated with MBChB from Wits in 1984. She completed a postgraduate Diploma in Child Health from Colleges of Medicine SA and is a certified Family Medicine Specialist.

Ruth has worked in general practice for many years, including starting two of her own practice's in Johannesburg. She has also obtained a Bachelor's in Theology with a Major in Pastoral Care, and a Masters in Biblical Studies, and has been involved in counselling at Rosebank Union Church for 15 years.

Dr Ward's three grown children live in Cape Town and she has thus relocated from Johannesburg with her husband, Michael. Michael is a professor of corporate finance at GIBS, University of Pretoria.
